We undertake all large-scale macadam works in-house using our own personnel. We carry our own blacktop and bricklaying squad to complement our operations rather than rely on sub-contracts and all our paving works are undertaken by our own personnel who all have many year’s experience in laying a wide variety of materials. Other specific trades employed by us include – JCB Operators, plant operators, groundworkers, slabbers, kerbers, tar workers, bricklayers, drainage layers etc.
All our operatives and staff are full-time employees. We employ 40+ full time, fully qualified, site employees to undertake all works on site, ensuring that programmes are implemented to suit the project rather than the demands of hired-in subcontract labour.
As Principal Contractor we must plan, manage and monitor the construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety during the construction phase to ensure that, so far as is reasonably practicable, construction work is carried out without risks to health or safety.
Management and supervisory staff have the responsibility for implementing Health and Safety throughout the company and must ensure that health and safety considerations are always given priority in planning and day to day supervision of work. All employees and subcontractors are expected to cooperate with the company in carrying out Health and Safety and must ensure their own work, as far as is reasonably practical, is carried out without risk to themselves and others.
“L & C provided a thoroughly professional service at St John Baptist PS delivering the project on programme, within budget, and to a high standard of finish. I would have no hesitation in recommending L & C for future projects of a similar nature ”South Lanarkshire Council
“As with previously completed projects the quality of workmanship, service and professionalism demonstrated by Landscapes and Contracts Limited was high”North Ayrshire Council
“L & C carried out the hard landscaping works on our project. A good job, the Client was satisfied, Glasgow City Council was satisfied. The little snagging that was noted was addressed efficiently and with no fuss. I found L & C to be a very professional and proactive subcontractor. Nothing was a problem to them. They responded well to our requests to overcome programme challenges that were not of their making”L & C Client Appraisal Reference
"Core Path Works - This was one of those projects that required some allowance for site variations to obtain the best route through the trees and make sure the levels and gradients were still working within acceptable limits. L&C were able to work with us as the job progressed to agree adjustments and weather-related programming issues, allowing us to keep the Client involved and supportive on any variations required for alignment, additional groundworks for soft spots, and timescale."HFD Group
“The site manager for the Church Street contract brought a lot of experience and knowledge to the site. This was extremely helpful during the contract's duration. Additional works were identified during this contract. L&C had the additional staff requirements in order to work on various locations throughout North Ayrshire."North Ayrshire Council
“I would, and have used L & C on new projects and are looking to use them in forthcoming projects, we had no issues during or after construction with them and they have an excellent attitude towards getting a project completed on time and correctly."Constructionline Reference
